c)  You get the special editions when you buy, but not when you rent. You get the extras, such as alternative endings, interviews, how it was made and so on, and even deleted scenes. So you get more for your money. These have a good resale value.

d)  When you buy a movie it belongs to you, and you can do what you like with it – within copyright limits of course! You can lend it to friends and family, and if you have finished with it you can sell it. In fact, if you are lucky enough to have purchased a DVD movie online at a reasonably low price, as many are, you can sell it on eBay or Amazon for a price not far off your purchase price. In fact, some people have sold at a price that made the move cheaper for them to purchase than to rent!

The choice is yours: whether to buy or rent, and whether to buy offline or online. However, before making your mind up consider the relative benefits of each, and you might just join the growing number of people that are convinced that purchasing DVD movies online is the sensible and intelligent choice to make.  It is better to own than to rent!
