Do you DeScent Camo’s that you buy from the store before you go out hunting?

I bought some Field and Stream Camo’s (quad parka and matching pants and gloves) from Dicks Sporting Goods yesterday. I have never had new stuff before so I have always ‘Descented’ my stuff with Scent-a-way detergent and dryer sheets but, I didn’t want to do the step if I didn’t have to with my new stuff. Should I wash my new parka, pants and gloves or are they ok?

Absolutely! For all you know, someone may have picked them up and tried them on after handling something with a strong odor to the deer. If nothing else it will have the scent of everyone that has handled it, including the stock person and other customers. Sure, the scent fades with time. But, will it fade fast enough or sufficiently to prevent you from being scented? Although I wash mine before storing for the summer I will wash it again before using it each season, just in case.
